Karada wo Ubawareta Watashi to, Madoushi no Papa - Chapter 30

Papa’s question and where I wanted to go ①

「 Belrena, is there anywhere you’d like to go to? 」

「 What’s the matter, Papa, all of a sudden  」

A few days after Nicolad-san left, Papa asked me such a question out of the blue, and I was surprised. 

「 Nicolad told me. That it’s pitiful for a child Belrena’s age to be cooped up in a mansion. That there should be somewhere that you would really want to go to. Even though Belrena speaks your mind more than before, you’re still holding back 」

He was listening to Nicolad-san again

Nicolad-san has children, and because he is a father, he probably tells those things to Papa.

Even so, Papa really dotes on me. And because of that, I think that I might become selfish again, even though I’m happy that Papa dotes on me. 

「 Papa, so I, I’m happy just being with Papa, and I’m satisfied with just that. If I’m with Papa, I think that it’ll be fun no matter where we are 」

Papa pats my head hearing that. 

I think Papa knows that I love headpats. Papa’s slightly loosened mouth somehow looked pretty, and it made me happy just looking at him. 

「 I’m happy that Belrena said that. Even so, I want to bring Belrena to all sorts of places. So do you want to look at a book about those kinds of places with me? Luckily, I have books about many different places 」

「 I do!! 」

And so Papa and I went to the library to look for those books. Somehow, when I think about how I’ll be reading with Papa in the library, how fun that will be got me excited. 

We entered the library. Papa and I then picked out some books. Papa took the books that were on the higher shelves. 

「 ….. I’ve only really bought books on magic and don’t really have the books we want 」

「 It’s fine because I’m glad that we have so many!! Hey, Papa, next time, let’s buy those books, next time 」

「 Alright. So for today, if we don’t find anything that Belrena likes, let’s go to look for it in town 」

「 That’ll be good too!! I, will go anywhere with Papa!! 」

Having Papa be so thoughtful about me, wanting to bring me to places I want to go makes me happy, reading with Papa like this also makes me happy….. I got unexpectedly excited. 

Papa was stunned seeing me this excited. I looked at Papa thinking that, he gave me a headpat asking 「 What’s wrong? 」

「 Hey, Papa, what’s this?? 」

「 This is a book on the history of magic and countries. As I recall, you can find out about many countries 」

Papa said that, and smiled at me. Papa’s smile is wonderful and looking at it makes me happy. 

Papa takes a seat. And when I wanted to do the same, he held his hand out and made me float.

「 Papa? 」

When I looked at Papa, puzzled, in the next moment, I got put down on Papa’s lap. 

「 Wa, Papa, am I not heavy? 」

「 You’re not. It’ll be easier to read together like this 」

Papa said that, and I looked at the book. 

It’s fun to read alone, but feeling Papa’s warmth on my back like this, is also somehow nice. It’s different from when I read with Papa up until now. I realised, why it’s fun to do something with someone. 

I couldn’t do anything after my body got taken, now that I can touch, and do something with someone like this, it’s really fun.

「 Papa, what kind of places does Papa like? 」

「 Me? Well for me, I like places with few people. Right….. Like viewing the snowscape on Mt. Sheandoi. It’s really nice. You can’t see it during this season, but you can find spirits and rare creatures in a place like that. Do you want to go when it’s in season?  」

「 Un, Of course!! 」

I don’t really know, what sort of view Papa was talking about, looked like. But I think that, together with Papa, looking at the scenery Papa thinks is great will surely be wonderful.
