The Duchy's Madman - chapter 5 part 2
As he listened to the whole story, Arthur gasped.
“They were other spies too?”
Arthur shook his head at the frightened reply.
‘Should I… like this?’
Among the traitors names that came out of Sebastian’s mouth, there were also those he didn’t even know were involved.
Troubled by this, Arthur shrugged
If it weren’t for Sebastian’s explanation, he would have never known about it, and so it was a good thing.
He lowered his head again and looked at Sebastian.
“All right, Sebastian. I forgive you.”
“I’ll spare your life, but you still have to take that pill.”
Sebastian was about to cheer, but then froze.
Meanwhile, Arthur smiles and explains.
“I was going to kill you, but…. I’ll give you a chance, and so if you survive after eating it, I’ll actually let you live.”
“Why? You mean that pill was really going to take my life?”
Arthur rose from his seat.
He poked his fingers into Sebastian’s chest.
” Still, I’ll be merciful and let you take just one of the three pills. It’s pretty tempting, don’t you think so ?”
Arthur raised the corners of his mouth.
“Maybe it’s a poison that doesn’t react until you take all three pills, so go ahead and take them, Sebastian.”
* * *
There was another uproar in the Bavaria household.
A loyal servant.
It was because Sebastian, the butler, had become an imbecile.
But this time it happened in the duke’s room.
It was caused by his medicines.
“Yeah… you didn’t eat it, did you? You didn’t eat, did you, my son?”
Yonel wrapped her arms around her son, her hands trembling.
She glanced at the butler, Sebastian, who was drooling from the poison, with fear in her eyes.
“Can you cure him?”
“…I’m afraid, Your Excellency, this poison is new to us, and we don’t know how to detoxify it.”
At the doctors’ explanation, Yonel shouted in anger.
“What the hell–!!! what were you all doing for this to happen?”
The vassal stepped back in panic.
“How can this be happening inside the Duke’s mansion, is this even possible?”
“Don’t call me that, I am very disappointed in you all!”
Bavaria’s vassals were at a loss for words at Yonel’s outburst.
“Find out who is responsible for this immediately!”
With that, the vassals quickly bowed their heads and left.
Yonel bit her lip as the room was cleared
Arthur, who had been watching her, got up and approached her.
“… Mom, I’m fine.”
Yonelle turns her head to look at him.
Then, with tears in her eyes, she spoke.
“I’m sorry…. I’m sorry, son, for being a useless mother and letting you go through something like this.”
At these words, Arthur’s lips tightened.
‘It’s not your fault Mother, it’s my fault’
But he didn’t dare tell her this.
If he told her the truth now, it would do her no good.
‘If Mother makes a rash move when she hears the truth, Kane Dormund will move accordingly.
So even though he returned to normal, Arthur was still stuttering.
‘It was best to reveal about my changes after treating my condition and cleaning up the surrounding’
‘Now that I’m back to my senses, I’m also thinking about what will happen afterwards.’
Arthur turned away at that thought.
The traitor who had pretended to be a loyal servant of the House for decades, who had made him a stutter, had become a drooling imbecile.
He had just gotten back what he had tried to do to arthur
But Arthur gritted his teeth and muttered to himself.
‘I suppose I’ve gotten my revenge and settled my scores a little cleaner than before, but… I still prefer killing.’
After all, the greatest pain a human being can feel is death.
However, Sebastian was alive now, albeit as an idiot.
Arthur felt a little disappointed, but he decided to put up with it.
“I’m not a madman anymore,” he thought, “so I should be able to get my revenge in a clean way like this.
And so time passed.
Count Dormund’s mansion.
There, Cain Dormund, having heard the latest news of what had happened in Bavaria, laughed out loud.
He then looked away and asked.
“Do you have something to say?”
In response to her husband’s question, the kneeling Kana Dormund trembled.
