Episode 59
Even though he pretended meeting Seo Da-rae was nothing, it must have been mentally taxing. On the way back after meeting her, he nearly collapsed several times from exhaustion. Although he hadn’t been diagnosed at the hospital, he knew that what he needed now was none other than Kang Se-heon’s pheromones. He picked up his phone and dialed Kang Se-heon’s number, but sighed and dropped his arm.Â
He knew Kang Se-heon also had things to do today, so he couldn’t just ask him to come without reason. Tae-seo shook his head to try to clear his mind, but the dizziness intensified and his chest felt stuffy.
“Oh my, Tae-seo. Are you alright? You’re breaking out in a cold sweat…”
“I got sweaty after walking in the heat. I’ll go up and rest.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’ll be fine after resting.”
Tae-seo forcibly lifted the corners of his mouth and told the worried helper that he was fine, then gripped the stair railing. He usually wasn’t even aware of the railing’s existence, but today it felt like he wouldn’t be able to go up the stairs alone without it. His body was gradually losing strength, but his head felt like thousands of needles were piercing it at once. And it felt like someone was squeezing his heart tightly, so Tae-seo wanted to quickly return to his room.Â
Although he staggered once in the middle, Tae-seo made it back to his room with all his strength and collapsed forward, lacking the energy to even walk to the bed. When he parted with Seo Da-rae, while walking home, and while talking to the helper lady, his physical condition gradually changed. Now, after just climbing one flight of stairs, an indescribable feeling was wringing his entire body.
“Why is this happening?”
He felt stuffy even while breathing and his body felt like it was floating even while pressing against the floor. He tried to come to his senses somehow, but the more he tried, the hazier his mind became.
“My body… hurts.”
Now it didn’t seem like simply resting would make it better. It didn’t seem like this pain would go away. Tae-seo was suddenly frightened because this was the first time he had experienced this after getting pregnant. It would be nice if it was just like before, having no appetite or simply lacking energy… but as time passed, it was getting more difficult to endure.
“…Hyung.”
He wanted to see Kang Se-heon. He needed him now. Not anyone else, but Kang Se-heon. Him. Hyung.
Tae-seo fumbled through his clothes. He clearly remembered where he had put it, but now it didn’t come to mind. Fumbling and forcibly putting strength in his fingertips to rummage through his clothes, he finally felt a solid object.
As soon as he found his phone, he put his fingers in his pocket, but now his whole body ached. It wasn’t his skin or bones that hurt. It just hurt. Tae-seo picked up his phone without even having time to wipe the cold sweat flowing down his face, but… hitting his limit, he lost consciousness and collapsed.

Seo Da-rae belatedly tried to change her expression, but Kang In-hyuk had already caught her emotions.
“You… why does your face look like that?”
“Just tired.”
Seo Da-rae roughly wiped her cheek with the back of her hand. It didn’t help, but she did it out of embarrassment.  She did it because she wanted to hide her expression from Kang In-hyuk, but the more she did, the more it revealed that she was different from usual.
“Where did you go this morning?”
“Just… wandered around.”
“Why?”
“I felt stuffy.”
Seo Da-rae forcibly put strength in her legs and stood up. Now she couldn’t let Kang In-hyuk catch her confusion anymore.
“I’ll rest in my room. I’m tired from overexerting myself since morning.”
“But Da-rae.”
Seo Da-rae, who had turned around at Kang In-hyuk’s call, froze as if she had turned to ice. His voice, which had always sounded sweet, felt burdensome today. Seo Da-rae slowly turned around.
“You’re strange today.”
“What’s strange?”
“Why can’t you look me in the eye?”
At his words that hit the nail on the head, Seo Da-rae abruptly raised her head. And when she met Kang In-hyuk’s eyes, she regretted her hasty action but couldn’t take her eyes off him.
“This is the first time you’ve avoided my eyes. As if you have a secret that I mustn’t find out about.”
“What… What are you talking about? What secret would I have from you?”
Seo Da-rae forcibly lifted the corners of her mouth and denied his words. She couldn’t let him, of all people, find out. If he knew what she had done to Tae-seo…
“Yoon Tae-seo.”
However, the moment Yoon Tae-seo was mentioned from Kang In-hyuk’s mouth, Seo Da-rae’s expression noticeably stiffened. She couldn’t even pretend to be nonchalant anymore.
“You met Tae-seo, didn’t you?”
“How did you know that?”
“I saw you leave this morning. I thought you just had something to take care of and left, but your expression is so stiff.”
“So?”
Seo Da-rae stared at Kang In-hyuk with a doubtful look. After seeing her leave in the morning, the next thing was…
“I followed you.”
“…You… You followed me?”
“Yeah. I saw you meet Tae-seo, have a conversation, and then leave. I even saw you deliberately bump into Tae-seo.”
Kang In-hyuk spoke calmly, but Seo Da-rae trembled all over as if she had been struck by lightning. She even pushed her foot back to take a step away from Kang In-hyuk. However, she realized there was nowhere to back away as she hit the door.
“If you had told me you met Tae-seo, I wouldn’t have asked further. I knew Tae-seo also had something to say to you, so you two…”
“Yoon Tae-seo.”
Seo Da-rae cut off Kang In-hyuk’s words. At some point, Seo Da-rae had calmly withdrawn all her expressions and stared at Kang In-hyuk without any emotion.
“You always called him Yoon Tae-seo. But you keep calling him Tae-seo.”
“I don’t think that’s what’s important right now. Why are you lying?”
“How did you know Yoon Tae-seo had something to say to me? Oh, that he was going to apologize?”
Seo Da-rae, who had tried to hide everything from Kang In-hyuk, laughed hollowly and spoke.
“Yeah. He said he apologized to you for all the wrong things he had done. He came and apologized to me too.”
Seo Da-rae honestly admitted it. There was no need to hide this. However, while talking to Kang In-hyuk, the resentment in her heart gradually rose, which only she still felt alone.
“But I don’t understand why you’re trying to hide the fact that you met Tae-seo.”
“I just… didn’t want to mention the fact that I met Yoon Tae-seo. In-hyuk, I hate it when you even bring up Yoon Tae-seo’s name.”
Seo Da-rae shook her head and whined. No tears came out, but she thought her sad feelings would sufficiently reach Kang In-hyuk. However, the words that returned betrayed Seo Da-rae.
“Don’t change the subject and tell me. What were you thinking? Or what did you do?”
“Can’t you look at me instead of Yoon Tae-seo right now? Then I’ll…”
“Da-rae.”
“It should be me first. In-hyuk. You should care about me first.”
In the end, Kang In-hyuk’s patience snapped at the frustratingly circular conversation.
“Seo Da-rae!”
“I just wanted to confirm.”
Seo Da-rae raised her voice just as loud at Kang In-hyuk’s high tone.
“I just wanted to confirm if he was really an omega.”
“Seo Da-rae, you…”
“He says he’s an omega. But have you smelled his pheromones? Is he really an omega?”
Seo Da-rae released her pheromones as if to show off. Kang In-hyuk frowned and looked at Seo Da-rae as the pheromones filled the space in an instant.
“If he’s an omega, pheromones should come out like this. And those pheromones should be smelled. But how can Yoon Tae-seo be an omega? Is he really an omega now?”
“Withdraw your pheromones.”
“Why? They’re the pheromones you like, so why should I get rid of them?”
Seo Da-rae gave a wry smile. Now that her pheromones were leisurely drifting around Kang In-hyuk, a sense of satisfaction rose. Yes, Kang In-hyuk had always liked her pheromones and wore her pheromones on his body. So the only omega pheromones clinging to him were hers.
But why did it feel like Tae-seo’s pheromones, which he hadn’t even smelled, were enveloping Kang In-hyuk’s body… Seo Da-rae, who felt bad just imagining it, erased her smile and glared at Kang In-hyuk. Why was he calling Yoon Tae-seo “Tae-seo” and calling her “Seo Da-rae”?
“Since omegas react to alpha pheromones somehow, that’s why I did it.”
“Why are you trying to confirm that?”
“Then are you going to do it? Are you going to go and say, ‘Tae-seo, are you an omega? Then let’s get engaged?”
Seo Da-rae’s voice gradually became more heated, and eventually rang out sharply like a scream. It felt like Seo Da-rae’s cry, but Kang In-hyuk stood there indifferently as if he couldn’t feel anything. To make matters worse, he pressed Seo Da-rae as if interrogating her.
“So, what did you do?”
“I just made him feel alpha pheromones. But I thought one or two people’s pheromones wouldn’t be enough, so I especially gathered a lot. My gosh… I only thought such a thing would be necessary, but I guess there are many people like me. There was such a thing.”
“Do you know what you’re saying right now?”
Exposing an omega to alpha pheromones. Especially exposing them to a large amount of pheromones meant forcibly inducing that omega’s heat cycle. In other words, Seo Da-rae had committed a crime that was prohibited by the country.
Kang In-hyuk glared at Seo Da-rae, then turned and left. Right now, saving Tae-seo, who was in danger, took priority over pressing Seo Da-rae.
Seo Da-rae, who was left alone after Kang In-hyuk left, bowed her head deeply. Until just now, her eyes were dry without a single tear, but now tears flowed down her cheeks to the point of wetting them because she felt so miserable.
“Why is it okay for him and not for me? He also tried to drug me. But I can’t do that?”
Seo Da-rae buried her face in her hands. Unfortunately, her sobs and muttering didn’t reach Kang In-hyuk.
“Yoon Tae-seo can be told to go to someone else. You should comfort me. You should ask me why I did that and calm my anxious heart.”
If you leave like that, what will happen to our relationship?
