Episode 60
Kang In-hyuk, who went to Tae-seo’s house, pounded on the gate as if he would break it down.
“Open the door. I said open the door!”
“Who’s knocking on the door like this… Huh? In-hyuk.”
“Open the door. Right now!”
Kang In-hyuk shouted, clenching his fist as if he would strongly pound on the door again. Because of that, the helper came out all the way to directly open the gate for him even though she could press the button from inside the house.
“Yelling at an adult like that…”
The helper, who belatedly realized that she had come out in a hurry without even putting on shoes, turned around to say something to Kang In-hyuk. However, as Kang In-hyuk rushed inside, the opportunity to speak to him disappeared.
Earlier, Tae-seo had come in staggering, and now In-hyuk, who hadn’t come for several years, had barged in.
“If someone saw this, they’d think something happened… Oh my, you startled me. You came quickly.”
The helper, who had been muttering to herself, clutched her chest in surprise at the presence of someone behind her, pressuring her back.
Meanwhile, Kang In-hyuk, who had entered, headed straight for Tae-seo’s room. Although he hadn’t come for several years, his body remembered where Tae-seo’s room was. As In-hyuk walked up the familiar stairs he used to frequent with a smile, opened the door, and entered, he hesitated.
Seeing Tae-seo collapse on the floor, Kang In-hyuk pressed his pounding heart and slowly entered. He didn’t want to acknowledge that Tae-seo’s current state was due to Seo Da-rae’s doing, and he wished this was all a joke.
“Tae-seo.”
Standing in front of Tae-seo, Kang In-hyuk couldn’t readily bend his knees and called out to him with a hazy voice. Please, answer me, but confirming that Tae-seo’s mouth wasn’t opening, Kang In-hyuk collapsed and sat down.
“Tae-seo, try to wake up. Yoon Tae-seo.”
Shaking his shoulders and continuously calling his name, Kang In-hyuk revealed a desperate expression. Kang In-hyuk put his arm under Tae-seo’s neck and legs, noticing the cold sweat on his face. Now was not the time to think about who had done what. The priority was for Tae-seo to open his eyes.
“I’ll take you to the hospital. So you have to hold on until then.”
Muttering words that Tae-seo might or might not hear, Kang In-hyuk embraced his body. And just as he was about to turn around and leave the room, his steps were halted by someone blocking the open door.
It was Kang Se-heon.
“Move.”
“If you put Tae-seo down, I’ll let you leave.”
Kang Se-heon looked at his lover in the arms of his cousin. Tae-seo, who usually chattered and talked, was unusually quiet today with his eyes closed. As if he was sleeping very silently.
“Didn’t you hear me tell you to move? Don’t you see Tae-seo is in critical condition right now?”
Kang In-hyuk glared at Kang Se-heon, who had blocked his way when he urgently needed to rush to the hospital. His heart was already laying Tae-seo on a hospital bed and calling the doctor, but he was so frustrated by this situation that kept getting delayed.
“Why are you doing that? Who are you to do that?”
“…What?”
Kang Se-heon took a step into the room. It was just one step, but it seemed his long legs had entered quite deeply. Standing right in front of Kang In-hyuk, Kang Se-heon looked down at Tae-seo.
“I’ll take my lover.”
Kang Se-heon took Tae-seo from him as if snatching him away. Kang Se-heon, who easily embraced Tae-seo’s body more readily than Kang In-hyuk had, turned around without hesitation. He didn’t pay any attention to Kang In-hyuk, who was left alone, as if he would take responsibility for Tae-seo from now on.
Left alone after Kang Se-heon left, Kang In-hyuk curled his two hands at the body heat of Tae-seo, whom he had been holding until just now. Like a child whose possession had been taken away, Kang In-hyuk’s heart which had nowhere to go floated away.

“We’re going straight to the hospital right now.”
[I’ll follow right away. Thank you.]
Thanks to Yoon Seok-hoon, who had prepared to call Kang Se-heon unconditionally if there were any strange signs, the situation unfolded quickly. As soon as the helper said that Tae-seo was breaking out in a cold sweat, Kang Se-heon appeared not long after.
Kang Se-heon, who put his phone in his pocket after a short call with Yoon Seok-hoon, gazed at Tae-seo in his arms. Tae-seo, who had been smiling well until yesterday, had lost consciousness and had his eyes closed as if dead. Even though his body shook greatly every moment as they got in the car and headed to the hospital, he kept his eyes closed as if he couldn’t feel anything at all.
“I can’t stand the anxiety.”
Kang Se-heon embraced Tae-seo’s body and released his pheromones. As he pushed out the pheromones other alphas felt from Tae-seo, he said,
“I’ll have to keep you by my side.”
So that something like today doesn’t happen.
Kang Se-heon was calm as always, but his pheromones were exploding and fluctuating.
“We’ve arrived.”
At the driver’s words, Kang Se-heon turned his body while still holding Tae-seo. As the driver quickly opened the door, Kang Se-heon entered the hospital without obstruction.
“What happened?”
Jin Gyu-min, who had been waiting in advance, approached and looked at Tae-seo in Kang Se-heon’s arms. After checking Tae-seo’s pale face and cold sweat, Jin Gyu-min blocked Kang Se-heon’s way.
“Not that way, this way. Follow me.”
At Jin Gyu-min’s call, Kang Se-heon silently changed direction and followed him. Right now, the priority was to make Tae-seo open his eyes no matter where.
“Wait here for a moment. Don’t come in until I come out…”
“What about Tae-seo?”
“I’ll try to make him regain consciousness somehow. And I’ll find out the cause. So you wait in the meantime. If you’re anxious, count numbers or something.”
Jin Gyu-min, who laid Tae-seo on a mobile hospital bed, gave Kang Se-heon a warning before entering the examination room. Outsiders were prohibited from entering immediately, but he didn’t know how Kang Se-heon would react if left alone. In the end, Jin Gyu-min tried to calm his friend’s heart by making a light conversation and going in. Even before the automatic door closed, Jin Gyu-min’s voice giving various instructions shook Kang Se-heon’s head.
As the door closed and Tae-seo disappeared from his sight, Kang Se-heon supported the wall with his hand. For the first time, he, who had been calm until now, lowered his head as if exhausted.
“One, two, three…”
It was hard to wait for Tae-seo to come out. So Kang Se-heon slowly counted numbers as Jin Gyu-min told him to.
Yoon Tae-seo, who had fallen into heat asked him to pick him up. Yoon Tae-seo, who had turned his gaze away pretending not to see him in the elevator. Yoon Tae-seo, who had become an omega but had no scent. Yoon Tae-seo, who had demanded his phone number…
While counting the numbers, the memories of meeting Tae-seo flashed by one by one. All his hopes of the days they would spend together had fallen into an abyss in an instant.
While Kang Se-heon closed his eyes and wished for Tae-seo’s safety, the sound of hurried footsteps approaching was heard. When Kang Se-heon opened his eyes, Yoon Seok-hoon, Kim Mi-kyung, and Kang In-hyuk had rushed over.
“Tae-seo is…”
“He just entered the examination room.”
It was strange that it was the examination room, not the emergency room or operating room, but no one except Kang In-hyuk acted strangely for now.
“Tae-seo.”
As Kim Mi-kyung staggered, Kang In-hyuk quickly grabbed her body beside her. Yoon Seok-hoon held her opposite arm to similarly support her from collapsing. However, Yoon Seok-hoon was the same in having his heart set on Tae-seo immediately.
Kang In-hyuk looked around and slowly led Kim Mi-kyung toward where the chairs.
“For now, let’s go over there and sit.”
Kang In-hyuk grabbed Kim Mi-kyung’s shoulders, giving Yoon Seok-hoon a look that he would take care of it. And he gently spoke to Kim Mi-kyung, meaning for her to get a hold of herself.
“Why did this happen to Tae-seo…”
“I think he was doused with something illegal… filled with alpha pheromones. His life won’t be in danger.”
Usually, crimes related to pheromones mostly induce the other person’s heat cycle. What really became a critical situation was not life, but the pheromone gland being damaged. So relatively, Kang In-hyuk could endure it.
However, he couldn’t say where that thing came from. So even though Kang In-hyuk knew what it was, he couldn’t explain it in detail to Kim Mi-kyung. He shouldn’t cover up Seo Da-rae’s wrongdoing, but he couldn’t open his mouth.
Kang Se-heon, who noticed Kang In-hyuk’s hesitation, narrowed his eyes sharply. He quietly stared at Kang In-hyuk.
Unlike himself, who had received a call that Tae-seo’s condition didn’t seem good, Kang In-hyuk appeared as if he knew Tae-seo had collapsed. Moreover, no one had come out of the examination room yet, but he knew the cause.
Kang In-hyuk, not sensing Kang Se-heon’s gaze, held Kim Mi-kyung’s collapsing body. Then, while seating her in the chair next to him, he didn’t let go of the arm he had grabbed in case she collapsed.
“What will happen to our Tae-seo…”
“Get a hold of yourself.”
Kang In-hyuk consoled her, embracing Kim Mi-kyung’s shoulders. Yoon Seok-hoon was also out of it, so Kang In-hyuk tried harder to soothe Kim Mi-kyung.
“Who on earth, who did this to our Tae-seo?”
“Ma’am, you can’t collapse right now. So you absolutely mustn’t collapse.”
“In-hyuk, our Tae-seo can’t be in danger.”
“I know.”
Kang In-hyuk responded to her words for now to calm Kim Mi-kyung. There was still no word on what had happened to Tae-seo, and they could only wait for now. However, Kang In-hyuk’s consolation didn’t seem to work at all, and Kim Mi-kyung’s sobs grew stronger and stronger.
“It’ll be alright. Even if he just presented as an omega, it’s not something that endangers his life…”
“Tae-seo is pregnant.”
“…”
For a moment, Kang In-hyuk looked down at Kim Mi-kyung, thinking he had misheard. At his gaze, Kim Mi-kyung, who had been sobbing, looked up at Kang In-hyuk with eyes full of tears.
“Our Tae-seo is pregnant, In-hyuk.”
Kang In-hyuk’s bewilderment was fully reflected in Kang Se-heon’s eyes.
